‘Awakening’ Revival Enters Eighth Week In Hot Springs Awakening Revival in Hot Springs,

A Church, A Community and A City Changed By The Power Of God

An “AWAKENING” REVIVAL at Second Baptist Church in Hot Springs is living up to it’s name.  Entering it’s eighth week, the Awakening already has resulted in more than 600 professions of faith in Christ and what pastor Chuck McAlister called “a powerful move of God” in the church and community.

In the first seven weeks, thousands of people attended the services held Tuesdays through Fridays.  There is a community Easter service slated to be held at the Hot Springs Convention Center.  The weekday services are expected to extend through mid-April.

Preaching for the ‘Awakening’ has been done by Evangelist William Blackburn from Fort Smith, Arkansas.  His gospel messages have been powerful and anointed.  His sermons include, “You Must Be Born Again”, “Examine Yourself”, “Repent And Believe The Gospel”, “The Return Of Christ”, “Is There Really A Hell?” and many other Bible truths.

Saved at the age of 36, Blackburn has been a full-time Southern Baptist Evangelist since 1885.  He is currently staff evangelist at First Baptist Church in Lavaca, Arkansas.  “It is truly amazing what God will do when we step out on faith and trust Him to do His good will,” said Blackburn.  Watch Revival Videos.

Credit goes to Pastor McAlister and his staff and congregation for ‘believing God’ and committing to this extended revival.  In a day when many churches have given up on holding revivals, it is good to see a church “return to the old paths’.  God always blesses when we “do God’s work God’s way”.

The ‘Awakening’ has touched thousands of lives in Hot Springs along with several area churches.  The community  was impacted for the Kingdom of God and will never be the same.  If pastor Chuck McAlister has his way, this revival will continue on indefinitely.
